2 months old already
It’s hard to believe but Laney was two months old last week – crazy how time flies. She is getting more and more fun everyday. Sean and I have started to put her on a schedule and after about 3 days I think we have been semi-successful. She has now started sleeping longer at night, last night she slept from 9:30 – 3:00 am – PRAISE THE LORD! Mommy finally got some good sleep, much needed after 9 weeks of having pretty much no sleep at all.
I think Laney may be teething already, if you can imagine that? She keeps gnawing on her fingers – all four of them. She’s starting to drool, not a lot, but she hasn’t drooled before. Her gums are pretty white too, I actually had two mommy friends ask me if she was teething last week – I hadn’t even thought of it. She really is a great baby and I’m not just saying that, it’s amazing to me that probably 95% of people have interacted with her have used the word “content” to describe her. It truly is a great word to describe her, she has about two fussy times a day but they never last long, maybe 10 minutes.
We have found a wonderful childcare provider for Laney and even though it will be extremely hard to leave her every morning, I am confident that Laney will learn a lot from her and her family and that she will be well taken care of. Luckily, because Sean works on Sunday’s Laney will not have to be with a childcare provider every day – which helps me not to feel so bad. We are still looking for a sitter for Monday afternoons from 1-6 pm. Sean is planning on working later in the evenings on Monday because he has student band practice at the church on Monday nights so, he would watch Laney in the morning and we would have someone watch her in the afternoon. Tuesday – Thursday I will drop Laney off at the home of our childcare provider, their house is on my way to work – which is kind of a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because it’s on my way and I’ll get a little bit of Laney/Mommy time in the car – even if it’s just me staring at her. It’s a curse because I will probably have to leave an hour and a half before work now…which puts me leaving the house at 6:30am just to get to work by 8am. Add in feeding, changing and mommy getting ready and that puts me at getting up at probably 5am…yikes! Then, we won’t get home until 6:30/7pm and Laney goes to bed at 9:30pm. whew! what a day Tuesday – Thursday will be, not what I would ideally want for my daughter but this is the way it will have to be. : 0 /
With all that said, I have 2 more weeks to be home with my little girl and I plan on living up every minute of it so we have more mommy and Laney bonding time – my ultimate favorite thing!!
(I will try to post some two month pics before the end of the week – we are having photo uploading issues with the web site again…bummer!)
